My Week In Tunes ..................
Here we are again, another week another account of my vocal favourites! This week I have been feeling rather rocky or should I say hello rock, all the same my music of choice this week has provided great opportunities to sing my little heart out while driving. As I have mentioned before I have a very eclectic taste in music so you never know what you will get when you turn on my IPod.

1.  Intervention by Arcade Fire

This has to be one of my all time favourite driving songs playing the louder the better. Love the lyrics, love the music, and love the melody. Arcade fire is a great band over all who offer something different every time they release a song. I remember playing this song on my way home from passing my driving test and it has stock in my car ever since. The only thing I don’t like about this song is the video which accompanies it so apologies if you feel the same. Despite this a definite favourite of mine.

2.  Lightning Bolt By Jack Bugg

What a great new artist. This one of his first releases and it is impressive. It has a 60’s American coming of age sound to it yet he is young and French (I think) and in my opinion very talented.

3.  Time to Pretend by MGMT

MGMT are one of those bands for me that released a brilliant first album and did not follow up with anything near as good. This song is catchy and very sing along friendly with its electric undertone and provocative lyrics. Another tune played the louder the better.
4.  Fans by Kings of Leon

By far one of the best Kings of Leon songs so far. Many people comment that they cannot understand the lyrics and this is probably true for me and I am probably singing the complete wrong lyrics as I drive my little car along to work. Despite this again I <3 it! The band is on a break seemingly so I look forward to hearing some of the new material.

 5.  We Are Young by Fun

I always sing this ALWAYS. It is a reminder that I am in fact young and have lots to sing about (“,). It is a happy song with great tempo, fabulous lyrics and I simply find it a little uplifting! Another driving favourite! Not a bad video accompanying this tune either. Enjoy!

With the volume turned up and no one hear me only myself I continue to sing along to all these little tunes. Hope you found one or two songs that just might become your favourite.

What have you been listening to this week? I would love to hear some of your suggestions. Please leave a comment and I will be replying ASAP!
Have a good Thursday

My Week in Tunes....

This is a tradition now for me share the music I have been listening to this week.

Instead of a variety of music belting in my ears I have been listening to one of my all time favourite C.D’s. I love this C.D so much that I genuinely know every single lyric on the album. The band is BellX1. An Irish band I cannot recommend highly enough. The Album is question is titled “Tour De Flock”.

It is always amazing to see this band live and this C.D is a live recording from a gig they played in the O2 arena (originally The Point) in Dublin, Ireland in 2006. This album consists of a set list drawn from a number of the band’s previous albums. It shows cases the some of the best songs delivered by the band.

The lead singer, Paul Noonan, has a very distinctive voice which is backed up by a group of excellent musicians. The lyrics of the songs are really good, often comical and catchy ranging from lively and upbeat to mellow and deep.
The only way to describe Bellx1 is to listen to them for yourself so here are just a few of my favourite

¬  Rocky Took A lover

¬  Eve Apple of my Eye

¬  Flame

¬  Bad Skin Day

¬  Tongue

Bellx1 – Probably my favourite band! I hope one or two people out there grow to like them too now (“,)
What have you been listening to this week? I love to hear your recommendations. Please leave a comment.

My week in Tunes!

As I mentioned in my post last week one of my big passions is music. I just love it. It has the power to change my mood, evoke a memory and turn me into a hair brush swinging diva! So I am hoping to add one post a week telling you about the songs and music I have been listening to this week. You never know someone somewhere out there who happens to stumble on my blog might just find their new favourite tune <3
So this week has been an ITunes on shuffle type of week. Not really knowing what kind of mood I have been in (January – yawn already) I just let the shuffle bring me where it wanted to bring me. These are the first five songs at the moment on my shuffle function. As I also mentioned before be aware I have a very eclectic taste in music...................

¬  Rihanna ft Jay Z – Umbrella
Ok Ok ....I know people either love or hate this song. I happen to love it. As soon as I hear the first beat I am in full swing singing my little heart out.  I just like the music, the lyric and the beat. I also must add I absolutely loved Rihanna’s hair cut in this video and may have done a copy cat version on my own bonnet in a little longer version.  Ella...Ella...Ella, eh, eh eh (“,)

¬  Athlete – Wires
I had not heard this song for ages, maybe even a few years and I heard it lately just in a shop or radio or something, I had to find it in my ITunes library. It is just, what I would call, a well thought out song that is probably not played enough of. Not a massive Athlete fan but this song is good.

¬  Cee Lo Green - Bright Lights Bigger City
Oh how I love to drive to this song, don’t care if it is Monday morning on the way to work it just makes you feel cool ............ok maybe that is just me. My head automatically breaks into a nodding motion and I want sunglasses and big hair. 70’s funky vibe how are ya!!

¬  Villagers – Becoming a Jackal
I saw the villagers at Electric Picnic (Boutique Music Festival in Ireland) a few years ago and was lucky enough to hear this song played live. Fantastic! Although it is better experienced live it is feel good tune for me anytime as it brings me right back to that tent on a wet summer night.

¬  BonJovi – Never Say Goodbye.
Again a band many people either love or hate but having seen them live  in concert twice now I can confirm they are well and truly the superstars they are made out to be. This is one of their big belter songs that everyone knows the lyrics whether they would admit it or not. I love it. I sing it and I own it when I do sing it.

Hope you enjoyed. What song/tunes have you been listening to?? I would love to hear them please leave a comment

Sing Baby Sing
In addition to my clear passion for all things cosmetic and beauty I also have a very active passion for music. I am the person who simply cannot walk into a room without turning on the radio, hop in the car without a favourite C.D or go for walk without my trusty IPOD. So bearing this in mind I have decided to share the top five tunes I am singing, humming and doing my best hair –brush karaoke. I must admit that my taste in music is very eclectic in nature so you could hear me sing along to everything and anything and this week is definitely no different.
My top tunes of the week

¬  Rock and Roll  Love Affair by Prince

I just love this song. First time I heard it I was driving and actually pulled in to a car park to Shazam it to find out what it was!! Generally am not a big Prince fan but this is just so funky. Has a great vibe that leaves me smiling and singing along (does not matter that I am not lyric fluent). Love it!! Will be on my driving mix CD for sure.

¬  Don’t Stop The Party by Pitbull

Ok Christmas is over; New Year celebrations are well and truly over. Bleak times ahead...................I think not!! Well not when you are listening to this tune. It just screams summer 2013 is well on its way (being overly optimistic never hurt anyone) I just think this song is fun and easy and screams good times.

¬  Stay by Rihanna

I heard this song on the XFACTOR UK Live Final. I can take or leave Rihanna in general but something about this song I just love at the moment. I think it is gentle yet has presence at the same time if that makes any sense. Her voice is clear and sharp and the lyrics are excellent. Volume adds to the listening experience.

¬  The Way by Matchbox Twenty

One of my very favourite bands I love Matchbox Twenty. Sung by Kyle Cook on the album North this is one of my favorite songs from the album. As I listen to it I am so excited about finally getting to see them in concert later in the year. Great band, which seem to be getting better.

¬  Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrint ft Emeli Sande

Just a beautiful song. I think this is a song any girl would love to have sung to them. This Labrint boy is a little cute too (“,)

Well those are my lip curling tunes for this week. What tunes are you listening to or would recommend ??? I would love to hear so please leave a comment below.

Happy Singing
