February Favourites

Well that month simply fly by in flash. It is no nice to finally see the spring to show it face even only for a few minutes at a time. The weather may be still very chilly and extremely unpredictable but the days defiantly seem to hold a little more day light. I love this time of year. As I mentioned before I have a growing appreciation for plants and flowers and I love that the little daffodils are beginning to show their little yellow faces!!

Anyway as February draws to an end I am pleased to tell you all about my favourite products I have been using this month. This month see’s a mixture of body/face care and make up. As always I would just like to tell you that I have tried each and every one of these products myself and my opinions are based on my experience of the products. Seeing as spring is on the way I have started upping my body care routine so I will start here....

1.     Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops Body Cream

€17.25 for 250ml

I love this body cream. It is really rich and smells amazing. It is gentle on your skin and leaves the skin unbelievably soft. It dries in really fast; it is almost like your skin simply drinks the moisture. It defiantly softens smoothes and condition the skin. The Green tea extract is perfect for sensitive or dry skin as it acts to calm the skin and nourish it at the same time. The cream is rich so you only need a little amount at a time meaning the 250 ml tube goes a long way, I have been using it for well over 2 months now.

2.   Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream

€30.55 for 14.2g

This eye cream was purchased as part of a trial size set. I written a post on the full set so if you want to have a look at the post just click on ME!
This eye cream is said to help the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and other nasty aging tell tale sign. It is rich and cooling on the eye area.  Benefit claims this cream help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen. It is correctly named “it’s potent” as it is rich. It is really hydrating and over all I have had a really good experience with this eye cream. I have bought another benefit trial size kit with different products but it contains this eye cream again which I am so happy about.
I believe it is trial and error until you find the correct eye cream or skin care products that suit you and your skin type but this little potent pot is good place to start.

3.     L’occitane Hand Cream in Cherry Blossom 30ml

With the weather still chilly and ever changeable a good hand cream is a must in my hand bag. I simply love all L’occitane products but the hand cream is just amazing. Enriched with shea butter, this creamy and non-greasy moisturiser nourishes and protects hands, leaving them delicately scented. It contains cherry extract so smells amazing. A little treat your hands deserve.

4.     Real Techniques Expert Brush

There is not much I can say about this fabulous face brush that has not been already been said and I have to admit all the positive reviews are spot on and completely correct. It is just a great face brush. It is light weight and has the perfect handle for gripping. It buffs makeup on the skin so well. It allows you to apply for foundation flawlessly leaving a lovely dewy look.  It is ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut. I love this range of brushes and am building my collection nicely. I actually like this brush so much that I want to add another one to my collection so when I was one and have it drying naturally for a day or 2 I will not be without one to use!!. Addicted much? 5.     Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector .

Once again a product carries in my hand bag at all times and in 2 shades.  I have this product in shades 01 Rose Shimmer and 03 Nude Shimmer.
This Lip gel is really light weight with a brilliant 3d shimmer and shine. It is lightly pigmented leaving your lips bright and shiny with your chosen colour. This product also conditions your lips really well. It is by far one of my most favourite lip products at the moment.

With a lot of focus on skin care this month I have enjoyed using all of these products so much. I love mixing up my body care products. I hope you find one or two products that you may like to try.
Have you found any products this month that you have been really enjoying using? Please share with your finds with me by leaving a comment.

Am off to begin my search for my new favourites for next month!

My Favourite Lip Products of the Moment

Lip products I <3 at the Mo!!!

At any one time I always have a variety if lip products on the go at the same time and always carry a few in my handbag. Staying true to my long standing motto big lashes, heels high and lips glossy

  • Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in Rose

This is, in my opinion, one of the best lip products around at the moment. It is glossy and has a great shine but is no way sticky. The rose colour is delicate yet gives your lips a great pop of colour. I really do agree with all the hype that surrounds this product and look forward to treating myself to one of the other colours available apricot or nude shimmer.

  • ·        Mac – Three Favourites at the minute.

1, Mac Lip ConditionerI have included this in my recent favourites post. It is such a nice product. Its conditions your lips while adding a touch of colour. With a delicate smell and generous amount in the little pot this is an essential for lip products lovers

2, Mac Lip Crème sheen Glass in Kiss Me Softly – I got this lip glass as part of the recent MAC Holiday Collection. This is a lovely lightly coral colour crème sheen lip gloss. It can be teamed with any make up look and gives a plump and glossy finish to your lips. It adds to any chosen lip stick colour as a top coat or is perfect on its own.

3, Mac Hey Sailor Lip Gloss in Nude – This little gem was part of the limited edition Hey Sailor Collection released last year. I was a big fan of this collection as all products released ranging from the bronzer to the lip glass were fabulous. This little lip gloss is the last of this collection I have left!! It is a nude gloss that just adds shimmer and gloss to lips. It is perfect for the natural look. I am using is sparingly at the minute as I know it will be hard to replace.

  • ·        Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stain in shade 001 Honey Douce – This product was a chance buy. I was buying other Revlon products and there was a 3 for 2 offer so I picked up this product and how glad am I. This lip stain has a fabulous consistency as it glides on to deliver a matt finish. The colour I choose is a pink shade that gives a healthy colour to your lips and does have staying power. Again I would like to try another few shades of this product.

  • ·        Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia- I had read and watched so many reviews of this product and I just had to rush out and try it for myself. I have to admit I do <3 it. As far as lip conditioners or nourishing products go you cannot get much better than this on price, quality or results. It is a cheap and cheerful lip conditioner that does leave your lip so soft and leaves a little light sheen. It tastes delicious, so much so that I am probably licking it off my lips only to reapply. Highly recommended.

My favourite lip products tend to all follow the nude or pink shade range. The shades I use all depends on my make up trends at the time but I always have lippy with me. Have you tried any must have lip products? If so please leave your recommendations as I love to hear them.

January - It Is Not So Blue!!

January - It Is Not So Blue!!

January is traditionally a month for well nothing! Long, normally wet, dark days were you venture out in the dark and home in the dark. Good intensions of exercise and denying yourself of anything sweet, creamy or in any way tasty leave it a pretty bleak month.  With this in mind and a secret little stash in my piggy bank I had planned to treat myself to a few little cosmetics to fulfil the beauty junkie’s cravings within me.  In the run up to Christmas 2012 I had ensured I had the entire gift requirements for others covered and all the festive and January financial needs planned for. Now it was time to treat myself to a few little bits and pieces. I researched and looked at many blogs and vlogs and equipped myself with a wish list that would make any self respecting beauty product junkie blush. My final purchases are as follows:
  • ·         Dior Skin Nude Tan –Nude Glow Sun Powder in 002 (bronzer)
  • ·         Dior Skin Nude Shimmer in 001 (highlighter)
  • ·         MAC Prep+Prime BB (Beauty Balm) SPF 35 in light (new to MAC)
  • ·         MAC Penultimate Eye Liner Liquid in Rapid Black ( liquid eyeliner – an essential in my make up bag)
  • ·         MAC Pigment in Vanilla ( read such good reviews had to try it out)
  • ·         MAC Mineralise Tinted Lip Balm in Stay Warm! ( new collection)
  • ·         Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 Rose Shimmer ( hard to decide on the shade they three shades are fabulous)
  • ·         Nails Inc Bling It On Leather and Skulls Polish and Embellishments Set  (not for the faint hearted but ever so funky)

O.k., admittedly I may have gone a little O.T.T but oh what a turnaround I am hoping to make of this January. I can’t wait to try out each and every one of these little gems and form my opinion on what were must haves to me. I may be broke for the next few weeks (o.k. maybe a month or 2) but at least my skin will be bronzed and highlighted and my lips mineralised and perfected. I am liking January 2013 a little more.

 Happy January - Week 1
